Rafting on the Soča and Sava rivers can be your first step into the exciting world of outdoor adventures in Slovenia. Though you get all the necessary equipment and are required to help paddle, the fate of the boat does not depend on you as each boat is steered and powered by an experienced guide and instructor. For the adventurous, we recommend the alternative mini-raft with or without a guide.

The Soča river
The source of the Soča river issues from the heart of the Julian Alps, near the border with Italy. The so-called EMERALD RIVER continues its way along the Trenta valley, through narrow ravines, to widen for a moment at Bovec, squeezes narrow again and halts at the Most na Soči lake. The Soča river connects locals and visitors by the water with activites such as rafting and kayaking.

Note: Rafting on rivers is very popular since it doesn‘t require any special skills and is suitable for almost everybody.

The Sava river
The Sava river traverses diagonally the whole of the country. The longest river in Slovenia boasts two springs, in the form of Savica waterfall – Sava Bohinjka and on a field called Zelenci between Podkoren and Rateče – Sava Dolinka. Both rivers join at Radovljica into Sava river.

The upper part of both rivers hosts rafters and kayakers.
